So, before heading toward the solution I will explain some basic things. When a student who passed out from class 10th wants to seek admission to class 11th then he has only 3 options, like- Science and non-science (commerce and arts).

But besides science, commerce, and arts there are many other ways to pursue higher education for UG and PG degrees. Just have a look at the below chart to understand the career selection after classes 10th and 12th.

So if you failed in class 12th, then you have three options, which are as follows:

  1. Repeat again from class 11th
  2. Do diploma (Anyone can pursue with class 10th mark sheet)
  3. ITI (Anyone can pursue with class 10th mark sheet)

So, if you got a compartment in class 12th then you can do a Diploma in Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical, and electronics. Rather than a diploma, you can also do an ITI course.

The ITI courses are more famous now a days as the ITI courses are more job oriented. If a student has been failed in the class 12 board exams then the ITI course should be the better option to move on.

Just for your information, I would like to inform you that if you got failed in class 12th, then you can not repeat class 12th again in the same year.

Is there any age limit for board exams?

No, since we are blessed with the “Right to education law” in our country. No matter how much old you are, no matter how much your age is, you can still take admitted to any school you want and can give board exams at any age.

Normally the students of class 12th are below 18, and I have one of my friends who got compartment in 3 subjects and got failed in class 12th. He again repeated from class 11 and passed the class 12th board exam at the age of 20 years (2 years late).

ITI course

The full form of ITI is “Industrial Training Institute”, and by this name you can easily understand the trait of this course is practical-based, which means in this area you have to learn practical knowledge and will get an off-desk job.

Qualifications– You can pursue ITI after the 8th or 10th class, and even after the 12th also. The ITI after the 10th class is more famous among the students. So you just need a 10th class mark sheet to apply for admission to the ITI course.

Course duration-The duration of the ITI course depends on the subject you have chosen. The course duration may be of 6 months, 1 year, or 2-year.

Age limit– The minimum age limit for the ITI courses is 14 years and the maximum age limit is 40 years.

Required documents– For filling out the online form for the ITI course, you will need the mark sheet of class 8th or class 10th and the Adhar card with the caste certificate (if you have one).

Application fee– Admission to the ITI courses starts in the month of July. The application fee is less than 500 hundred.

College fee– The ITI fee in the government college is free of cost, while in the private colleges, the fee is around 30,000- 40,000 rupees.

Salary– The minimum salary of an ITI graduate is more than 10,000 and less than 15,000. The salary hike may reach up to 70,000 per month.

Diploma Course

While in the diploma course, you can just select one subject and can take a degree in that particular subject. Unlike the degree courses, the diploma can be completed in just 6 months or in a year.

The NIOS is often termed an “on-demand examination”, since in the NIOS except in October and November the admission process runs all year.

So, failure and success are the two faces of a single coin, and let me tell you that you should not feel shy or distressed if you are failed in the board exams. No, one is going to remember these things after a few years, the only person who will be affected by this will be you only.
